A Day in the Life of a Security Shift Supervisor:

This position oversees security operations and helps implement policies and procedures. Security Shift Supervisors provide armed and TASER security responses in addition to the duties of a Security Officer when needed. This position actively supervises security officers and onboards new Security department employees.

 Here Is What You Will Be Doing:

·         Provides a visible deterrence to crime, prohibited activities, or suspicious activities in both public and non-public areas of the organization.

·         Provides armed and TASER security response strictly following established Use-of-Force Continuum.

·         Executes written and verbal instructions.

·         Writes accurate, clear, and legible reports.

·         Assigns security duties and provides post coverage as needed.

·         Supervises Security Officers and Master Security Officers

·         Evaluates and documents performance, conducts department training, and provides new employee department orientation and onboarding.

·         Reviews reports for correctness and oversees corrections.

·         Acts in absence of Security Program Manager as directed.

·         Assists with administrative tasks as directed.

·         Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a diverse population

·         Ability to quickly read a situation and implement effective countermeasures

·         Knowledge of Use-of-Force Continuum

·         Ability to physically restrain people

·         Knowledge of facility locations and layout

·         Ability to lead staff to successful performance 

·         Report and correspondence writing skills

·         Ability to multitask

·         Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

·         Basic computer and software skills

·         Excellent customer service skills

 

 Here Is What You Will Need:

·         High school diploma (or Equivalent Certificate from an accredited program) or higher degree

·         Must pass psychological examination

·         60 Days: CPI training w/in 60 days of start date

·         1 Year: International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic, Advanced, Supervisor and Safety Certification within one (1) year of start date

·         Valid USA driver’s license

o   Must have clean driving record that follows Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s driving guidelines

 

Nice to Have:

·         Associate’s Degree

·         One (1) or more years of experience in healthcare security

·         Experience working with public in a service-oriented setting

·         Experience as a supervisor in a service-related field
