POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a highly motivated and team-oriented Medical Assistant to work with a very busy Sports Medicine Surgeon and his Physician Assistant. The ideal candidate must have a positive attitude, be goal oriented, and adapt to changes quickly. Our team is all about creating a positive culture and work environment to elevate company morale and patient care.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, professional, has the ability to multitask and has excellent attention to detail. Candidate must pass a drug screen and background check prior to starting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Rooming and prepping patients for x-rays and assisting in drawing up injections
- Creating surgery orders & x-ray orders
- Maintaining patient records and updating charts
- Maintain supplies, equipment, prepare and clean exam/procedure rooms, stocking and sterilizing instruments ensuring patient rooms are stocked, cleaned, and presentable
- Assist physician and physician assistant with patient procedures as needed
- Ensure all initial consultations, pertinent notes, lab slips, radiology and pathology reports are entered in the patient’s file and available to the physician prior to patient arrival
- Provide patient education with regards to office policies, medications, management of pain/injury/disease, home treatments and special diets using appropriate medical terminology as directed by the physician
- Ensure all consent forms are completed, signed and filed
- Respond to patient / physician / pharmacy calls calls/messages and assist with their needs
- Assist front desk with rescheduling patients
- OSHA sign off lists
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Minimum of 2 years in a specialist office
- Strong focus on patient quality and customer service
- Excellent follow through to see tasks to completion
- Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills
- Possesses a high degree of self-motivation and produces high quality work with minimal supervision
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Limited Scope Operator Xray License in Colorado
- Experience with Allscripts

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Hours of business are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be able to work early, late and long hours, as needed, to meet the essential functions of the job
