Procurement Specialist
The Procurement Specialist position is responsible for processing of system generated requests along with special projects as assigned by the Director of Purchasing. Provides backup to Buyers on vacation. Provides assistance to Buyers as needed. He or she will be responsible for supporting over 8 branches and their commodities.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Processes Demand Center generated requests for assigned branches.
- Coordinates internal branch to branch transfers to alleviate slow moving inventory.
- Responsible for helping manage turn ratios for assigned branches.
- Assists in emergency expediting.
- Provide vacation backup as needed
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- 4-year degree -OR– equivalent combination of skills, experience, or education
- 3+ years of experience within PVF (Pipes, valves and fittings) industry
- Must demonstrate strong customer service skills including a sense of urgency to meet both external and internal customer needs.
- Analytical, organizational and multi-tasking skills required.
- Vendor management experience
- Proven knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
