Job Summary:

We are searching for a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a diverse team of professionals dedicated to providing legal services and guidance to over 130 membership-based clubs nationwide. Our team is experienced in a variety of legal topics, including contracts, employment, licensing/operational permits, membership, corporate governance, litigation and real estate.

 

This is primarily an in-person role at our home office in Las Colinas, Texas with the opportunity to work remote up to two days per week after an initial training period. 

Day-to-Day:

  •  Provide general administrative support to our legal team, including scanning and saving documents, PDFing and saving email, distributing mail, preparing mail and FedExes, pulling physical files, requesting checks, and researching information internally and online
  • Gather information from various stakeholders and timely submit responses to subpoenas, discovery and regulatory requests
  • Using templates, prepare litigation hold notices, correspondence, agreements and other forms and notices
  • Update and maintain sources of truth, including databases and spreadsheets, with absolute accuracy
  • Monitor service of process notices, including subpoenas, garnishments, notices and legal claims, and process them following written guidelines
  • Assist with saving, coding and submitting legal invoices for payment
  • Provide support for special projects as needed

About You: 

 Enjoy working collaboratively and cross-functionally with a positive, "roll up your sleeves" attitude

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person, over the phone and in writing
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and thoroughness
  • Basic understanding of corporate structures, including the differences between types of legal entities, e.g., corporation versus LLC, and how they’re governed
  • Mastery of standard office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Acrobat
  • Texas Notary or willing to become a Texas Notary
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience
  • Previous experience in a corporate legal department or law firm preferred
  • Previous hospitality or customer service experience preferred
