About the Role:
The Sr. Domestic Logistics Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods within the domestic supply chain for a manufacturing company. This position is responsible for coordinating logistics activities, managing transportation schedules, and optimizing inventory flow to support production and customer delivery requirements. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments such as production, procurement, and sales, as well as external partners including carriers and vendors. The Sr. Domestic Logistics Administrator will analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, this position drives operational excellence in domestic logistics to enhance overall supply chain performance and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in domestic logistics or supply chain coordination within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of transportation modes, freight management, and logistics best practices.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCMP SCPro).
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies applied to logistics processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of domestic regulatory requirements related to transportation and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule domestic transportation to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods.
- Manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to negotiate rates and service levels.
- Monitor shipment status and resolve any transportation issues or delays proactively.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and sales teams to align logistics activities with business needs and inventory requirements.
- Maintain accurate logistics documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance metrics to management.
- Support the implementation of logistics technology systems and process automation initiatives.
