Quaker Valley Foods is seeking an experienced Night Shift Warehouse Manager to lead our night operations.   

This role is crucial for ensuring efficient workflow and maintaining a safe work environment.

  

  • Workforce Management: Optimize manpower utilization by effectively monitoring and managing the workforce.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all employees adhere to safety rules, leading by example to maintain a cohesive work environment.
  • Supervision: Assign, direct, and review the work of supervisory staff for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Daily Operations: Oversee selection, cubing, loading operations and related activities.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Ensure compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures among employees and supervisory staff.
  • Performance Review: Review workforce selection percentages as well as indirect time and provide coaching and counseling as needed.
  • Loading Dock Management: Manage the loading dock area to ensure dispatch and departures including pallets being safely stacked and wrapped to ensure driver safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Transportation Coordination: Notify the transportation department of any delays impacting scheduled delivery times.
  • Communication: Collaborate with supervisors and other team members to formulate plans to address operational challenges.
  • Report Preparation: Create and prepare necessary reports for management.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Ensure the building and equipment are well maintained, including the condition of the facility during and after the shift is completed.
  • Cross Departmental Communication: Effectively communicate with the Director of Operations, Transportation Department, Inventory Control, and Day Warehouse supervisors regarding any operational issues.
  • Policy Enforcement: Enforce company work rules, policies, and compliance with union contracts.

  


Requirements

  

  • Urgency: Approach all responsibilities with urgency; Quaker Valley operates 24/7.
  • Environment: Ability to work in refrigerated and frozen temperatures for extended periods of time.
  • Union Experience: Preferred minimum of 2 years of experience managing in a Union environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and coach employees to achieve high productivity.
  • Communication  Skills: Must effectively communicate with all departments and provide clear instructions and plans to close gaps as needed.
  • Safety Orientation: Prioritize safety in all operations.
  • Training and Development: Willingness to train in other departments for future growth.
  • Education: Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Five years of experience in refrigerated food or related distribution operations preferred.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze and resolve issues effectively.
  • Interpersonal  Skills: Good interpersonal skills to communicate with a diverse group of employees and managers.
  • Technical  Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Access, Excel, Power Enterprise WMS and related WMS systems.
