SUMMARY
Under the director of the Executive Director of Auxiliary Services and the Frontline Coordinator, the Frontline Worker provides support with a variety of food service operation tasks such as cleaning work areas and equipment, set up, serving food, cash register duties, barista, banquet server, banquet set up.

Position Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Sets up food service equipment and utensils for cafeteria service.
- Sets up for special events by putting out tablecloths and place settings, arranging table placement and setting up a buffet
- Conveys food and supplies from the main kitchen to the serving site.
- Serve food items to customers in an efficient and friendly manner in accordance with specific instructions, ensuring that appropriate portions are served.
- Basic food preparation under the guidance of the Chef de Cuisine or Sous chef.
- As needed, replenishes foods, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays.
- Clean and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, service ware, utensils, and equipment; collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers; as appropriate to the area of operation.
- Perform routine cashiering duties as assigned; receive and count money and make correct change, complete cash handling documents per policy.
- Follow established health, safety and sanitation principles applicable to food serving and kitchen maintenance.
- Responsible for understanding, supporting and actively demonstrating the College’s beliefs, values, mission and vision and agreeing to be evaluated by same.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
CONTACTS AND PURPOSE OF CONTACTS
Internal: Frequent contact with college employees regarding dining services and catering orders.
External: Frequent contact with customers regarding cafeteria operations and special events catering.

- Learn to operate food services equipment/appliances.

- Use effective interpersonal skills to successfully communicate with the general public.
- Establish and maintain cooperative work relationships.
The knowledge, skills and abilities required are often obtained by a High school diploma or GED.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequent reaching, walking, standing, lifting, stooping, or carrying of equipment and materials may be required. Incumbents may be required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and fumes.
WORK ENVIROMENT
Work is generally performed in a commercial cafeteria environment, with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Work hours may vary and frequent evening and weekend hours are required. Travel may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
