Position Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day logistics operations at the manufacturing plant, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and coordination with internal departments and external partners. This role ensures timely and cost-effective movement of materials and finished goods while maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

  

Key Responsibilities:

· Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation.

· Work closely with production, purchasing, and warehousing teams to align logistics schedules with manufacturing needs.

· Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to manage transportation logistics and resolve delivery issues.

· Track shipments and update internal systems with delivery statuses and inventory movements.

· Monitor inventory levels and work with supply chain teams to minimize excess stock and avoid shortages.

· Maintain accurate records of shipping and receiving transactions, inventory counts, and logistics KPIs.

· Prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading, customs declarations, and packing lists.

· Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., DOT, OSHA, etc.).

· Identify opportunities to optimize logistics processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.

· Support physical inventory counts and cycle counting activities.

· Collaborate with Finance and Accounting for invoice reconciliation and freight charge verifications.

  

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.

· 2+ years of experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment.

· DOT Hazmat Shipper Certification & RCRA training preferred or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP or WMS systems required.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Knowledge of freight and transportation regulations and documentation.

  

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.

· May be required to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

· Work is performed in an office and warehouse/manufacturing setting.


Working Conditions:

· Warehouse environment with exposure to noise, heavy equipment, and varying temperatures.

· Regularly required to lift heavy objects, operate machinery, and stand for extended periods.

· May involve overtime and weekend shifts, depending on workload.


Other Skills and Abilities: 

Ability to wear the required protective equipment and devices. Have physical ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
