Description
At American Pasteurization Company (APC), the Receiver and Cycle Counter is a vital part of our warehouse team, responsible for the accurate handling of incoming products and the organization of inventory. This role includes receiving and storing materials, conducting regular cycle counts to maintain accuracy, and supporting production by delivering necessary supplies in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:Receiving Duties:
- Receive inbound shipments, unload trucks, and inspect deliveries for accuracy and condition.
- Match items against packing slips and purchase orders to confirm correct quantities and descriptions.
- Accurately enter received goods into APC’s warehouse management system (WMS).
- Apply labels, tag products as required, and put away received stock into correct storage locations.
- Communicate any shipping discrepancies or damage to the Inventory or Purchasing team.
- Keep the receiving area clean, organized, and compliant with food safety and workplace safety standards.
- Operate material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.) safely and efficiently.
Cycle Counting Duties:
- Perform regular cycle counts to verify physical inventory matches system records.
- Investigate and document discrepancies, working with Inventory Control to correct issues.
- Assist in full physical inventory counts when required.
- Maintain accurate count sheets and documentation to support data integrity.
- Suggest improvements to inventory processes based on recurring issues or observations.
Production Support:
- Monitor supply levels in production areas and replenish as needed to avoid downtime.
- Respond to material requests from the production floor quickly and accurately.
- Communicate with production leads and supervisors to ensure timely supply delivery.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of warehouse or inventory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory systems and computer data entry.
- Forklift and material handling equipment experience.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to lift to 50 lbs and work on feet throughout shift.
- Positive attitude, team player, and effective communicator.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit and drive intermittently. The employee must be able reach, handle materials above and below the shoulder, kneel, crawl, squat, bend and twist at the waist, climb ladders and stairs and tilt their head throughout the day on a frequent basis and occasionally lift parts and equipment up to 60 pounds. The individual must also be able to carry parts or equipment up to 60 pounds 1 to 10 feet. Must be able to use power tools, hand tools, and welders intermittently and carry said equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and forklifts. The environment is ventilated, air conditioned, damp, and with vibrations. The ground can be uneven. The employee will rarely be exposed to fumes/gases and/or chemicals. The environment can be dusty and heated. Employees are required to wear the following protective equipment: hard hat, hair and/or beard net, steel toes boots (or equivalent), eye wear, cut gloves, and fall protection hear when necessary. Hearing protection is optional. The employee is performing the job indoors 95% of the time and 5% outdoors.
