POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs vitals and patient assessments, enters orders and posts completed reports to patient care charts. Performs specific patient care activities and support functions as delegated by the Radiation Oncologist and/or the Registered Nurse.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
Education: Requires High School Diploma or GED and BLS provider. Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
Experience: At least one year of work experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire.
Licenses: CCMA, CMA or RMA
Skills and Abilities: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Works in well-lit, ventilated and climate-controlled office environment with routine office equipment; some equipment has moving mechanical parts.

Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office and/or hospital environment.
