JOB DESCRIPTION

The Logistics Analyst is a member of the Logistics Organization responsible for Global Freight, Trade Compliance and Transportation. The successful candidate will organize and manage shipments of large capital equipment direct to customers and the seamless flow of materials, products, services and associated systems information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinating with transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments, including creating truck load plans, carrier arrival times and carrier bookings.
  • Plan required support in rigging, trucking and storage to accommodate movement of materials from crating to delivery.
  • Communicate within all levels of the organization about shipments, escalate concerns promptly and appropriately
  • Prepare shipping documentation for all equipment moves, SLI, Commercial Invoice etc.
  • Make special shipping arrangements as necessary- coordinate crating requirements and work with house forwarders to book physical movement of goods.
  • Partner with 3rd party warehouse team to coordinate movements to and from off-site storage facilities
  • Support the overall organization tracking requests and fixing shipping issues
  • Work with 3rd party freight payment and audit company to support auditing and paying invoices, approve rates and coordinate payment
  • Work to resolve problems in transit.
  • Communicate with Export or Import personnel as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other departments, Crating, Manufacturing and After Market Shipping on projects and process improvements.

Education and/or Experience 

  • 2-4 years of experience in Shipping, Logistics or Transportation
  • Experience with International Logistics, including global routings, freight consolidations, international paperwork.
  • Preparing Export Documentation

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and thrive within an organization across geographical and cultural boundaries.
  • Quick thinking and Problem-Solving skills
  • Must be extremely organized
  • Intermediate level, Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and speak English sufficiently well to perform job functions.
  • Must have reliable transportation to support shipments from local storage facilities

   The duties of this job expose employee to both an office environment with typical office physical demands and a warehouse environment with light duty- labeling, stapling, and being aware of powered industrial vehicle traffic.
