Position Title: Technology Coordinator
Department: Bradley University Police Department
Reports to: Lieutenant, Support Services Division
Appointment: Full-Time (12 months)
Status: Exempt
DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Lieutenant of the Support Services Division, the Technology Coordinator oversees university-wide access control, CCTV and serves as a liaison to the Division of Information Technology for all Police Department (BUPD) technology needs.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide day-to-day operation, management, maintenance, replacement, and expansion of Bradley University’s S2 access control system including card readers, doors, alarms devices and system workstations;
- Partners with stakeholders to determine appropriate level of building card access for students, faculty, staff, vendors and guests;
- Provide daily customer service for card access operations, including but not limited to, configurations, programming, schedules for locks and unlocks, and reviewing daily transaction logs;
- Coordinate the operation, management, maintenance, replacement and expansion of Bradley University’s complex Avigilon VMS-based Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras system;
- Responsible for building a comprehensive training program on Avigilon VMS for BUPD;
- Administers CCTV and access control integrated interface at the BUPD Dispatch Center;
- Serve as a liaison with Facilities Management and the BUPD Dispatch Center;
- Lead project teams deploying new police-related technology and expansion of the access control and CCTV systems;
- Working closely with the Division of Information Technology, maintain and coordinate all BUPD technology systems and devices;
- Serves as the on-call person for access control and CCTV related issues;
- Works with stakeholders to deploy access control and CCTV;
- Ensures adoption of CPTED and other best practices related to access control and CCTV deployment;
- Develop a prioritized master plan for camera placement throughout the campus in collaboration with the Lieutenant of the Support Services Division and Chief of Police;
- Coordinate BUPD technology needs/support including but not limited to body worn cameras and digital evidence systems, squad laptops, police record management system (RMS) and computed aided dispatch system (CAD), and other police related software and hardware;
- Serve as the BUPD LEADS coordinator; and
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school degree/completion or equivalent;
- Three (3) years or more experience in the security field working with access control and CCTV systems OR three (3) years of more experience in the information technology (IT) field;
- Ability to pass an extensive background investigation;
- Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of constituents both verbally and in writing;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Ability to organize workflow and coordinate projects within the office and with other departments across campus;
- Excellent computer skills, including familiar with Microsoft office suite and databases; and
- Equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities;
- Availability for evening and/or weekend work as necessary;
- Proven record of attendance and reliability; and
- Demonstrate a high level of professional ethics and personal integrity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor Degree in Communications, Criminal Justice or Emergency Management, Computer Science, Information Technologies, or related fields; and
- Three (3) years or more of work experience with an institution of Higher Education.

Incumbent must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed in a normal office environment with little exposure to outdoor temperatures or dirt and dust. Working conditions are typically moderately quiet.
