Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have experience with orbital sanders, polishing, and spray guns for coating and metal applications. This task is conducted in a spray booth, sanding room, and on the production floor. This individual also must withstand a physical evaluation and respiratory test to be considered for this position. You must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Must be willing to learn about other sub straights and material
- Follow the guidelines and processes for prepping, polishing, and painting with numerous coating products
- Learns and understands painting area and equipment
- Follows production schedule for prepping the material to be coated
- Follows production schedule for coatings needed during the day for spraying
- Ensures all mixing supplies needed are available
- Prepares all coatings according to coating suppliers’ specifications
- Sands and prepares the surface for coating
- Ensures the production areas are clean
- Keeps all tools, mixing equipment, and mixing area clean
- Fills solvent containers on the production floor
- Recognizes color and ensures correct color is used
- Understand assembly and disassembly of paint guns
- Communicate with the manager about any issues with the paint gun, air supply, coating quality, and paint booth
- Notifies manager when supplies need to be reordered
- Recognizes the correct coating
- Replaces filters in paint booth and oven as needed and ensures overall cleanliness of paint booth and over
- Learns coating specifications for different customers, recognizes any issues with preparation, and notifies cleaners of problem
- Prep and coat units using proper technique and follow instructions to ensure proper finish
- Follows safety guidelines always wears personal protective equipment and ensures proper care of equipment
- Learns and understands the mechanics of equipment used
- Replaces brown bag on sprinkler heads
- Follows the manager's directions
- Maintains a productive pace as set by the manager
- Works cooperatively with other team members
- Performs other related duties as assigned
