Position Summary
As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for working independently in a fast-paced outpatient imaging center. You must have a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of ultrasound imaging and patient care. This position requires flexibility to work day shifts onsite in Port Orange, FL.
Essential Functions
- Greet patients and provide clear instructions regarding ultrasound procedures
- Schedule and coordinate patient exams efficiently and accurately
- Perform a variety of ultrasound exams, including but not limited to: abdominal, vascular, small parts, OB/GYN, infant head/hip/spine, breast imaging, and interventional procedures.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all breast imaging procedures, including breast interventional techniques.
- Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adjust procedures based on anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic findings.
- Exercise independent judgment to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological conditions.
- Review and evaluate sonographic images for technical quality and diagnostic acceptability.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment, ensure cleanliness of the work area, and monitor supply inventory.
- Provide compassionate care for the psychological and physical needs of patients and their families.
- Maintain current job-related competencies and certifications as required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited formal diagnostic medical sonography program
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer required
- Experience with breast imaging and interventional ultrasound preferred
Certifications
- ARDMS certification in Abdominal Ultrasound (Required)
- Vascular certification (RVT) preferred but not required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Must maintain compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements as applicable
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient in a wide range of ultrasound procedures and protocols
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound pathology
- Skilled in equipment operation, quality assurance, and troubleshooting
- Familiar with safety protocols and standards in a radiology environment
- Experience with breast interventional procedures
- Knowledge of PACS and ability to process and submit images for interpretation
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in medical emergencies, including AED and crash cart usage
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Strong patient care and customer service abilities

Work Schedule
- Day shifts (Monday–Friday)
- Onsite at our Port Orange, FL location
- Occasional schedule flexibility may be required
