Director/Manager, Digital Strategy – Executive Social & Creator Programs
We’re seeking a Director/Manager, Digital Strategy to play a central role in building and scaling Mission North’s next-generation executive social, creator, and brand social programs. This is an opportunity for a strategic leader and builder to shape the future of our integrated Studio.
📍 Location: San Francisco or New York City (hybrid)
We’re looking for someone based in one of these two hubs to collaborate closely with our leadership team and clients.
We live our values.
As a benefit corporation, we’re committed to making a positive difference through our work, culture, and community investments.
- We give back 2% of profits, 2% of our time, and 2% of partner equity to support causes in our local communities, and have invested more than $2 million through grants, donations, and pro bono services.
- Through our cross-industry fellowship and sponsorship initiative, Foster the Future, we’re creating pathways for the next generation of communications leaders.
- Diversity, belonging, and equity are woven into our business and culture. We continue to advance our policies and practices to foster a more progressive organization and industry.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Shape and Scale Programs
Partner with senior leadership to set the vision and operationalize our growing business, overseeing the strategy and evolution of our digital, social, and PR programs (organic, paid, and earned creator). - Drive Business Development & Growth
Act as a growth engine for the Studio: identify and cultivate new opportunities with existing clients, and play a hands-on role in pitching and winning new business. Bring forward new ideas, frameworks, and offerings that expand our portfolio and fuel the agency’s revenue growth. - Design Integrated Strategies
Lead the conceptualization and direction of cross-channel digital/social and content marketing programs for high-growth technology brands. (B2B experience required; consumer experience a plus.) - Serve as Senior Counselor
Act as a trusted advisor to clients on all aspects of digital, social, and influencer strategy. Elevate relationships with senior stakeholders, building trust that leads to deeper engagements and expanded scopes. - Amplify Impact
Build scalable campaign models that maximize content across multiple channels, multiplying reach and influence while driving measurable outcomes. - Oversee Paid & Performance
Provide strategic oversight for paid social, ensuring these efforts complement organic and earned activations. - Lead Measurement & Insights
Champion data-driven storytelling by overseeing measurement across integrated channels, social listening, and analytics to fuel insight-driven recommendations. - Guide Creator & Influencer Strategy
Shape and scale influencer and creator programs — from strategy to execution — while managing and mentoring a team to deliver excellence day-to-day. - Be a Market Leader
Stay ahead of industry trends, platform shifts, and new media innovations. Translate change into frameworks, guidance, and opportunities for clients and the agency. - Elevate Growth & New Business
Lead digital and content strategy in new business presentations, showcasing Mission North’s capabilities to prospects and positioning the agency as a leader in the new media landscape. - Mentor & Build Talent
Coach, resource, and inspire team members. Build a culture of entrepreneurship, accountability, and curiosity, developing the next generation of digital leaders.
What You Bring
- 7–10 years of experience leading digital and social strategy at an innovative agency and/or fast-growth technology brand (PR agency experience preferred).
- 3–5 years of team leadership with a proven ability to scale talent and build high-performing teams.
- A successful track record of driving business development — building, selling, and activating high-profile integrated digital programs that grow client scopes and win new prospects.
- Expertise across enterprise technology, fintech, cloud/infrastructure, life sciences, and/or media/marketing technology (consumer tech experience a plus).
- Experience running successful paid, owned, and earned campaigns, with the ability to connect them into cohesive, measurable strategies.
- Strong consultative and client-facing skills, including direct presentation to executives.
- Deep PR acumen with the ability to bridge earned, owned, and social.
- Entrepreneurial mindset — a builder, not just a manager — with the vision to grow offerings and the operational rigor to scale them.
- An empathetic leader who can bring the best out of people, balancing high standards with coaching and mentorship.
- Based in San Francisco or New York City, with the ability to travel for client and new business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
