Summary:
As a strategic partner to the business, the Sr HR Business Partner will play a pivotal role in shaping the people agenda at Miller Milling. This position is responsible for driving organizational effectiveness by championing initiatives in all facets of HR, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws specific to the manufacturing industry. By collaborating closely with leaders and team members across all levels, the Sr HR Business Partner ensures that human resources practices not only support but actively advance the company's mission, vision, and values. The role requires a blend of strategic insight, operational excellence, and a genuine commitment to fostering a workplace culture where individuals can thrive and contribute their best.
Responsibilities:
· Utilize strong leadership and communication skills daily to effectively collaborate with cross-functional
teams and influence organizational culture.
· Lead performance management programs, including goal setting, evaluations, and development plans
to drive employee growth and organizational effectiveness.
· Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations and maintain up-to-date HR policies
and procedures; adhere to the union contract and build relationships with union representatives
displaying proactive communication.
· Oversee employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes to maintain a positive and
compliant work environment for assigned plants; act as a coach and advisor to the process to
minimize risk.
· Drive initiatives that promote employee engagement, wellness, and retention within a fast-paced
manufacturing environment.
· Analyze and interpret HR metrics to make data-driven decisions that improve workforce planning and
employee engagement; prepare reports to inform leadership decisions and continuous improvement
of HR practices.
· Responsible for administering benefit programs for the organization. Serve as point of contact with
benefit employees, vendors and administrators. Respond to employees’ and vendors benefits
questions.
· Manage the leave of absence process and communication for designated plants.
· Own the compensation strategy, in partnership with VP of HR, to regularly review market data, adjust
and educate as needed; ensure job descriptions are accurate and remain up to date.
· Review payroll in partnership with payroll department as a check and balance.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’ s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
· At least 7 years of progressive HR experience, manufacturing industry experience a plus.
· Previous experience in a union environment required.
· Strong knowledge of labor laws and compliance standards specific to California.
· Proven experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation and
performance management.
