The Pricing & Promotional Analyst will support Coast of Maine’s growth by developing, analyzing, and evaluating product pricing and promotions. This role will lead the annual pricing process, monitor trade spend, and provide insights on customer and product profitability to optimize margin performance. The analyst will partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to deliver data-driven recommendations that shape customer deals, promotional programs, and long-term pricing strategy. This position is designed for a motivated professional with 3–5 years of experience who is eager to grow with the company and make a meaningful impact.
- Analyze pricing, margin structures, and promotional programs to identify risks and opportunities.
- Lead the annual pricing process, including modeling pricing impacts and developing recommendations.
- Evaluate ROI of trade spend and promotional activity, providing insights to Sales and Marketing.
- Partner with Business Development to build and maintain reporting tools and dashboards to track pricing, margin, and promotional performance.
- Develop financial models to support decision-making and customer proposals.
- Monitor competitor pricing and industry trends, recommending adjustments as needed.
- Lead the organization through the pricing components of annual budget and quarterly forecasting.
- Collaborate with Operations to understand cost drivers influencing pricing.
- Conduct freight analysis and tracking to measure impact on pricing, margin, and customer profitability.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or trade spend management (CPG or manufacturing preferred).
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Advanced Excel skills required; Power BI experience preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and support leaders with data-driven recommendations.
- Experience in a small, high-growth company; desire to be hands-on.
- Passion for sustainability and environmental responsibility; gardening experience a plus.
- Can-do attitude with entrepreneurial approach to planning, problem-solving, and meeting timelines.
- Effective interpersonal skills with a company-oriented focus.
