Townsville Recovery Services Centre Location: Garbutt, Townsville

Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with occasional on-call requirements

About the role:
As a Youth Case Manager, you will work directly with young people experiencing substance use challenges. You will provide dedicated case management support, helping clients navigate their recovery journey in a safe, trauma-informed, and youth-focused environment.
This role is part of a multi-disciplinary team, where collaboration and creativity are essential. You'll help shape a supportive, psychologically aware space where young people receive personalised, holistic care that addresses their diverse needs.
You’ll report to the Youth AOD Coordinator and be based at our Garbutt location.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Provide tailored case management to young people and young families impacted by alcohol and other drug use, including assessment, referral, and advocacy.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current AOD trends, therapeutic interventions, and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure coordinated, effective care.
- Support clients in rebuilding or strengthening positive family and community relationships.
- Maintain accurate, client-focused documentation, including assessment records and case plans developed in partnership with clients.
What You Will Bring:
- A degree in Social Work, Youth Work, or a related field, or a minimum Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work, or similar, with relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience providing case management to individuals experiencing complex or challenging life circumstances.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, mental health, and adolescent development.
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse groups, with sensitivity to different cultural and religious perspectives.
- A current Driver’s Licence.
- A valid Working with Children Check.
- A current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one quickly).
