NextGen Federal Systems (NextGen) is seeking an IT Inventory Specialist to support a federal law enforcement customer. IT Inventory Specialists order and maintain equipment and supplies to support the customer organization/mission, maintain inventory control of deployable assets and communications equipment, and perform inventory maintenance, including issuing equipment or items to support the mission.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain stock, supply room, and deployable communication equipment.
  • Facilitate shipping and receiving of equipment.
  • Conduct inventories; issue equipment and maintain inventory control.
  • Prepare logistical reports and presentations as required.
  • Assist with load-out to keep an accurate inventory of deploying equipment, assisting with equipment issues, and supporting equipment load-out.
  • Assist with loading equipment on aircraft pallets, box trucks, tractor-trailer/flatbeds, vans, trucks, and/or other equipment/platforms, as necessary.
  • Manage new IT equipment inventory processes.
  • Responsible for ensuring all IT equipment is registered correctly and managed properly; locate missing or outstanding items.
  • Produce and accurately update online records of accountable property, working closely with management to ready IT equipment for deployment in a timely manner.
  • Manage the entire life cycle of a product, which includes how a product is acquired, allocated, and delivered.


  • Qualifications:
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in an IT Inventory Specialist position with logistics responsibilities.
  • Must be available to serve on a duty recall roster (short notice).
  • Experienced in practical office/clerical skills, such as typing, filing, and data entry.
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of government logistics systems.
  • Experience using and maintaining logistics databases.
  • Effective oral/written communication skills.
  • Physically capable of carrying up to 70 lbs.
  • Physically capable of prolonged kneeling.
  • Physically capable of climbing on, off, and around trucks and other equipment.
  • Ability to perform general maintenance and cleaning on vehicles and facilities.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
