Job Functions:
This position is responsible for inventorying all donated items, set up and breakdown of tents sites, along with managing volunteers during distribution and non-distribution days.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Monitor and Track quantity of weekly and bi-weekly food deliveries to the Tent locations in Tampa, Pasco and Pinellas campus.
- Assist with lifting, offloading trucks, staging, and building within the Holiday Tent.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move, organize, and store materials safely.
- Organize, place, and set up supplies across tent sites, storage units, and campuses.
- Work alongside the Logistics and Maintenance teams to create and later take down the infrastructure that makes the Holiday Tent possible.
- Ensure items are organized, palletized, and stored correctly during transitions.
- Build daily food boxes.
- Supervise and manage volunteers within the tent. Provide instruction and guidance concerning assignments.
- Secure tent and maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility grounds.
- Pick up and break down cardboard boxes from Warehouse and Tent.
- Support the team in other tasks as assigned. Support the Holiday Center, fund raising events as directed.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED completed; Must be able and certified to operate a forklift; Must possess a valid Florida Driver's license.
Skills Requirements:
Must be willing to be cross-trained and utilized throughout the Operations department. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, orally as well as in writing. Must demonstrate a heart for the ministry of serving poor and homeless families. The position requires a degree of maturity, sensitivity to issues of faith, cross cultural and diversity issues, and the social skill to handle job-related matters in a professional and diplomatic manner. Requires managerial skills and the ability to supervise both individual and group volunteers. Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients, staff, and volunteers.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to tolerate outdoor temperatures consistent with Florida climate and endure prolonged standing/walking/bending/stooping and stretching. Must be able to relocate materials in a safe and proper manner. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs regularly. Must be able to calculate mathematical equations as needed for inventory control. Must have adequate hearing and speaking ability as to take part in and provide sound oral communication and information. Must have the physical, emotional, and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress. Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more.
Other:
Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States and pass applicable pre-employment background screening procedures. Must be able to work flexible schedules during the holiday season (October-December) and special events. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Valid FL drivers license with a good driving record and insurance.
