SUMMARY OF POSITION:


Springs. Rescue Mission considers every position one of ministry and a vital and valued part of our team. The Donor Marketing Specialist plays a vital role in sharing the story of Springs Rescue Mission and those we serve, with the goal of inspiring generosity and deepening donor engagement. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications and working collaboratively with the Advancement team and across the organization, this position executes day-to-day donor marketing activities and ensures that communications are in strategic alignment with SRM’s mission. This role will coordinate marketing campaigns in close collaboration with vendors and contractors, produce compelling donor-focused content, manage social media channels and help steward SRM’s brand with integrity and professionalism. The ideal person in this role will be passionate about storytelling and have strong project management skills, content strategy experience and a heart for building collaborative relationships that move the people of Colorado Springs toward generosity. 


Requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Project & Campaign Management

  • Work closely with Director of Marketing & Communications in the planning of donor-focused marketing campaigns, including direct response, digital communications and print collateral.
  • Assist in the creation, management and tracking of campaigns, ensuring strategic alignment.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for creative contractors, agencies and vendors — coordinating assignments, reviewing work and ensuring deadlines are met.

Storytelling

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to craft compelling stories that communicate the Mission’s impact and inspire donor support.
  • Write and edit content for donor communications, including newsletters, blog posts, emails, annual reports, website updates and social media. 
  • Assist in the planning and production of multimedia content (video, photo, graphics).
  • Repurpose assets into multiple formats to maximize reach and donor engagement.
  • Ensure all content clearly and consistently communicates SRM’s brand.

Social Media Management

  • Responsible for fully and effectively managing Springs Rescue Mission’s donor-focused social media presence across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Plan and publish engaging content that drives awareness, engagement and generosity.
  • Monitor social channels, engage with followers and respond to comments and messages in alignment with SRM’s brand voice.

Data Collection, Analysis & Improvement

  • Gather data from donor marketing campaigns to measure effectiveness to include, but not limited to, social media engagement and website analytics. 
  • Effectively report on outcomes so Director can recommend and implement improvements to processes, style and strategy based on analytics and best practices.
  • Monitor content and social media trends to optimize engagement and donor response.


Other

  • Attends all required meetings.
  • Regularly reviews SRM emails, as well as team messages and project management platforms.
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is required.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing or nonprofit fundraising communications is required.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is a constant witness. Christ-centered and compassionate attitude in dealing with people including the homeless and faithfully upholds and exemplifies SRM’s Statement of Faith.
  • A passion for Springs Rescue Mission’s Christ-centered mission and values.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to write edit, and adapt content for multiple channels and audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Mac OS and Adobe Creative Suite products.
  • Organized and detail oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and vendor relationships.
  • Experience with social media, email marketing platforms, CMS tools and CRMs.
  • Knowledge of donor behavior, fundraising campaigns and nonprofit communications.
  • Highly adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:

Occasionally = 1%-33%; frequently = 34%-66%; continuously = 67%-100%. 

Typical office working environment with minimal outdoor work. Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and outdoor work on as needed basis. 

Occasionally: must be able to lift up to 20 pounds, stand, bend or stretch, stair climbing

Frequently: walking, talking, manual dexterity

Continuously: sitting, adequate vision and hearing required, talking, fine motor skills, adequate use of fingers and hands, good mental condition to withstand consistently medium to high levels of stress

Salary & benefits include the following: $61,000 - $66,000 DOE

* Full benefits package to include: medical benefits with SRM paying 85% of the medical premium, voluntary Dental, Vision, Allstate Accident Plan, SRM-paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and AD&D. Also offered are 8 paid holidays, 21 days of accruable PTO, paid “Soul Care Retreat” days (up to 4 depending upon availability), Pay-on-Demand, and a 403b retirement plan with SRM-match after one (1) year, 100% vested beginning DOH; (Benefits are subject to change based on reevaluation or benefit plan changes annually.)

*Benefits begin at 1st of the following month after completing a full 30 days of employment (I.E. start date 4 January 2025 benefits initiate 1 March 2025)
