Come join us as Technical Assistant (m/f/d) Genome Editing at KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA. As a member of our international team, you will work on a permanent and full-time basis at our research facilities in Einbeck, Germany.  You will work in a dynamic and innovative environment, and across teams and locations to perform transformation and genome editing experiments, particularly in sugarbeet.
 


Your role and responsibilities at glance: 

  • Apply and conduct molecular biology techniques for the analysis of plant material. 
  • Plan and carry out transient transformation experiments to support our genome editing activities. 
  • In-vitro reproduction and cultivation of sugar beet.
  • May assist colleagues with other tissue culture and molecular operations and lab processes.
  • Acquire know-how and evaluate results using in-house bioinformatic pipelines.  
  • Accurately record data and document experiments in electronic notebooks and in the KWS laboratory databases.

  

Contribute your strengths: 

  • Completed vocational training as BTA (biological technical assistant), a bachelor’s or master’s degree in natural sciences, or comparable qualification.
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques such as PCR, DNA extraction, restriction digest, gel electrophoresis and cloning.
  • First professional experience in the laboratory with molecular biology as well as in-vitro culture of plants working under sterile conditions. 
  • Good user knowledge of MS Office, as well as experience with lab-related databases. 
  • Collaborative mindset and very good teamwork skills. 
  • Reliable and independent working style as well as initiative and flexibility. 
  • Very good level in spoken and written English, basic German language skills desirable.
