Department Info
The Terumo EMEA Quality and Regulatory (QR) department, operating from Leuven (BE), provides supporting services related to quality, regulatory and complaints & vigilance to internal and external customers in EMEA.
The Laboratory Engineering Section (LES) team, as part of the QR organisation, establishes the framework to ensure that all quality control (QC) tests are performed in compliance with the applicable standards, regulations and customer expectations, using state-of-the-art methods and equipment.
Job Summary
As Lab Engineer, you are responsible for development, programming and implementation of methods for dimensional measurements of in-house moulded components, using among others, state-of-the-art 3D Coordinate Measuring Machines.
Job Responsibilities
You are involved in the implementation and validation of test methods, in close collaboration with the relevant stakeholders. This entails the initial validation as well as life cycle management (maintenance of validation master plans, periodical review and evaluation of changes). You will also be involved in qualification and lifecycle of laboratory equipment and the related software.
In close collaboration with the Lab Engineer Calibration, you will assist in the execution of calibration activities of measurement instruments in our labs and production plants.
To enable this, you keep yourself up to date with applicable standards and regulations, to ensure the use of state-of-the-art methods and processes.
You interact with other departments and teams to perform investigations and to implement countermeasures for deviating results, to participate in improvement projects and to provide advice during development projects.
Profile Description
- a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an Engineering, Scientific, Medical or Pharmaceutical oriented education. An equivalent that is provided through experience, will also qualify
- Relevant working experience, preferably in metrology or a laboratory environment
- Someone that is tech-savvy, specifically knowledgeable in IT, with an understanding of statistics
- An enthusiastic team player with good people skills and communication skills to complement our team full of expertise
- Self-driven, well-organized and detail-oriented with a hands-on mentality.
- Fluent in English, written and verbal. Dutch is a plus
