px Group has operated and maintained the Fellside Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant located in Cumbria, since 2004, and also operates the 0.5 km high-hazard pipeline which is the main fuel supply to the site. The site is an upper tier COMAH installation forming part of the Sellafield COMAH enclave.


The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for a SHE Coordinator. The primary function of the role is to, in line with business & legislative requirements,  support the SHEQ Manager in implementing and achieving px’s SHE philosophy, strategy & actions. 

You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work effectively and positively with all px employees, customers, contractors and visitors to promote a positive safety culture and awareness. To ensure awareness of personal SHE responsibilities to themselves, their colleagues and the business. 
  • Provide relevant and accurate SHE advice, direction on company procedure, information and guidance to both px and contract personnel. 
  • Positively represent px and the SHE team at internal and external forums requiring a SHE presence. To provide positive contributions, completion of actions and timely reporting to other employees.
  • Undertake worksite inspections to the required standards and timescales, communicating and closing-out action points to completion. 
  • Prepare timely and accurate information for the px SHE communication mechanisms. To include, newsletters, electronic communications, meetings, noticeboards, documentation and training sessions, that both the business and external agencies require.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Minimum Requirements:

  • GCSE grades 4-9 including Maths and English
  • Experience working within a legislative framework with agreed targets.
  • Previously worked as part of a team: contributing to and working with others. Willing to take on tasks to help team/develop self.
  • Experience of auditing.
  • Understanding of risk assessment best practice techniques.
