Job Description:
SUMMARY:Responsible for the maintenance of all hotel linens and for expediting the room cleaning process by stripping linens, removing glasses and dishes for washing, sorting laundry in laundry, and picking up linens.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:Interacts effectively with the public and people. Performs excellent guest service at all time.Stores folded clean linens, towels and sheets in appropriate areas.Helps expedite room preparation for next guest by stripping linens and placing them outside guest room for pickup. Picks up linens outside dirty rooms, puts in laundry cart, and takes to laundry room..Removes room glasses and cups for washing to dishwashing area and returns them clean to the rooms.Adjusts and performs minor repairs to cleaning equipment.Sorts laundry in laundry room.Provides extra towels, sheets, pillows and /or rollaway to guest room upon the request of the front desk. Notifies managers concerning the need for major repairs. Maintains a consistent, regular attendance record.Performs any reasonable request made by management.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:Must have no allergies to cleaning agents. Must be able to successfully complete the Operators Safety Training Course for Counter Balance Sit-Down Rider Forklift and Electric Walkie Pallet Jack. LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and comprehend instructions and memos. Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manual. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to speak effectively one-on-one.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.REASONING ABILITY:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
