Job Posting Description
The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full-time Clinical Research Manager I in the Neuroscience of Risk and Development (NeRD) Laboratory at Boston Children’s Hospital. The NeRD lab uses a developmental framework to identify risk markers for, and biological mechanisms that underlie severe psychiatric disorders. Specifically, we: 1) assess how youth at risk for developing severe psychiatric disorders deviate from normative neurodevelopmental trajectories; 2) take a ‘genomics-first’ approach by studying neurobiological mechanisms and risk factors that influence psychiatric vulnerability in 22q11.2 Microdeletion Syndrome (22q11DS), a highly penetrant genetic risk variant for developmental neuropsychiatric disorders; 3) use big data approaches (i.e., electronic health records, genomics, data from smartphones) to better understand how and why the transition from childhood to adulthood is a dynamic period in which health trajectories can rapidly change; 4) test out new technologies to make biological markers of risk accessible to all. We are seeking a Clinical Research Manager I to manage and coordinate daily operations of multiple NIH-funded studies that focus on these goals. The Clinical Research Manger will develop and oversee the implementation of best practice guidelines for conducting various clinical research protocols, collaborate with the Principal Investigator for management of research studies, manage and train the activities of research staff, prepare and monitor regulatory documents, and ensure compliance with hospital and governmental regulations. Our goal is to find an individual interested in a long-term position in the NeRD lab who comes with five or more years of experience in research study design, management, and coordination.
