Overview
Conducts acute care medical record reviews, across all Riverside facilities, to include Emergency Department visits, inpatient units and ambulatory surgical episodes to ensure compliance with Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), Det Norske Veritas, Inc (DNV), state and federal regulations, and Riverside Unified Medical Staff (UMS) Bylaws.

What you will do

  • Reviews acute care medical records for content and timeliness to ensure compliance with CMS, DNV, state and federal regulations, and medical staff bylaws.
  • Analyzes data based on audit trends and presents findings to the appropriate committees. Documents need for an action plan and follow-up.
  • Assists with maintaining Plato Data Analyzer application database.
  • Completes reviews of the legal medical record, as requested, to verify accuracy after iCare updates.
  • Performs peer reviews for quality assurance.
  • Maintains knowledge of regulatory updates.
  • Is a resource and subject matter expert on documentation requirements.


Qualifications

Education

  • Associates Degree, Healthcare related (Required)


Experience

  • 3-4 years Healthcare experience (Required)


Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire (Required) or
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire (Required) or
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) - The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Upon Hire (Required) or
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIT) - The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Upon Hire (Required)
