What you will be doing
This is an exciting opportunity to lead delivery of a critical part of the Defence Combat strategy. In this role, you’ll provide project leadership for delivery of key work packages, including new capabilities, technologies, and products that underpin GCAP growth and success. You’ll have direct impact on programme performance, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives are met while enabling the delivery of future defence innovations. This role offers exposure to multi-disciplinary teams, career development in programme leadership, and the chance to influence strategic Defence objectives.

Responsibilities
You’ll be accountable for the successful delivery of high-impact project activities, creating a high-performing and engaged team:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership for a multi-skilled project team developing new and novel products and capabilities.

  • Lead and accelerate delivery through planning, execution, and commitment of technical work packages to meet schedule, cost, and quality requirements.

  • Manage schedule, budget, and risk for project scope, ensuring integration with parent programmes and reporting to the customer.

  • Define ways of working, including planning, risk and execution approaches (Agile/Waterfall), and ensure compliance with Programme Governance and Quality Systems.

  • Secure delivery resources and drive continuous improvement by removing impediments and developing enablers to enhance team performance.

  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to challenge and be challenged, and a strong philosophy on what makes great teams.

  • Be an original and creative problem solver, resilient, self-starting, able to work with ambiguity, and culturally aware to manage diverse international teams.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Defence business an individual has to hold a BPSS. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.
