The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
You will become member of 3M India Treasury team in all expects of Treasury.
• Cash Management & Liquidity Optimization: manage daily cash positioning and forecasting to ensure optimal liquidity across multiple bank accounts and business units in India. Manage inflows and outflows to minimize idle cash, reduce borrowing costs and maximize interest income. Implement cash concentration and sweeping structures to enhance liquidity efficiency.
• Cash Flow Forecasting & Analysis: Develop and maintain short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts by collaborating with business units, accounts payable/receivable and FP&A teams. Analyze variances and trends to improve forecast accuracy and support strategic decision-making.
• Bank Relationship & Account Management: Manage relationships with banking partners to negotiate favorable terms, streamline banking operations, and ensure adequate credit facilities. Oversee the opening, closing, and maintenance of bank accounts, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Be a focal point for all 3M IN entities and coordinate with the back office team for monitoring and process execution.
• Payment & Collection Optimization: Design and implement efficient payment and collection strategies, including automation of payment runs, reconciliation processes and adoption of digital payment platforms. Ensure timely settlement of transactions and reduce float time.
• Treasury Technology & Automation: Utilize treasury management systems (e.g., Kyriba), ERP platforms (e.g., SAP), and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) to automate cash reporting, enhance visibility and support real-time decision-making. Lead initiatives to digitize and streamline treasury workflows.
• Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure compliance with local regulations (e.g., FEMA, RBI guidelines) and internal treasury policies.
• Strategic Business Partnering: Collaborate with business leaders to align cash management strategies with operational needs and growth plans. Provide insights on working capital optimization, investment opportunities, and funding strategies.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
• Advanced education or certification such as CA, MBA in Finance from a premier institution;
• 6+ years finance experience and at least 3-4 years treasury experience in international enterprise; Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Fluent English both in written and verbal;
• Familiar with India FEMA FX regulations and IN accounting policy and able to plan the response according to policy updates;
• Strong numeracy skills, experienced in using Microsoft Excel;; Capacity on technical tools (Power BI, Kyriba, SAP);
• Can problem solve and work through issues independently;
• Self-starter with ability to prioritize projects and drive change
• Cross-cultural project management experience, good team player and able to motivate self and others;
