As a Warehouse Team Leader at Jaybro, you will play a pivotal role in managing and leading the dispatch or receiving teams. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate dispatch or receipt of goods for/from Metro and Regional and Interstate routes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a warehouse team through providing operational guidance and leadership on warehouse tasks and responsibilities.
- Conduct and lead operational meetings including toolbox talks, weekly team huddles and individual meetings.
- Review employee timesheets to ensure times have been accurately recorded and completed.
- Identify opportunities to enhance warehouse efficiency, streamline processes, and work with leadership team to implement change.
- Ensure incoming shipments of goods and materials are properly documented and logged in the inventory management system, and ensure team is checking for accuracy and verifying the condition of the items.
- Oversee that goods and materials are stored in designated locations within the warehouse, utilising proper shelving, pallets, and storage methods to maximize space and maintain inventory control.
- Coordinate and oversee the pick and pack of orders based on customer requests or internal requisitions.
- Manage and maintain inventory records, including stock levels, stock movement, and expiration dates. Ensure regular cycle counts are occurring and assist in periodic physical inventory audits.
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools, following safety protocols.
- Participate in safety toolbox talks and safety observations to demonstrate a commitment and leadership in health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ)
- Report, investigate and close out any safety hazards or incidents as per appropriate internal processes and procedures e.g. Donesafe.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in warehousing operations
- A great attitude and strong commitment to safety practices
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Well organized with a proactive approach
- Forklift license is a must; experience with counterbalance and high reach is preferable
- Eager to learn with a growth mindset
- Energetic and sociable, capable of working within a tight-knit team
