Join the team as a Pole Dresser at our Koppers Round Wood Manufacturing & Treatment Plant facility in Takura. Shift work opportunities avaiable.
About the role
You'll be responsible for prefabrication of hardwood poles and other products to meet customer requirements, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and productivity.
Daily activities include:
- Perform prefabrication of hardwood poles & products
- Operate machines safely & complete daily machinery pre-start checklist
- Complete process control documentation, ensuring all paperwork is correct
- Meet production level requirements & product quality standards
- Undertake regular routine maintenance checks
- Participate efficiently in stock takes
- Maintain work area
What are we looking for
- Competent/confident using a chainsaw
- Experience in a similar role - timber or manufacturing industry experience preferred
- Good communication and team work skills
- Strong safety awareness and ability to follow procedures
- Physically fit with a satisfactory pre-employment medical screening
- Ability to undertake shift work if needed
Ideal, but not essential:
- Competent in pole specifications, pole prefab operation and timber knowledge
- Understanding of timber preservation processes
