The opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our Enterprise Delivery team as the Head of Strategic Delivery Governance. This pivotal role will drive alignment, consistency, and excellence across our project portfolio by leading governance practices that enable strategic delivery at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Portfolio Delivery Dependency Mapping
    • Facilitate cross-functional portfolio syncs to ensure visibility and alignment of strategic initiatives.
    • Lead the identification, documentation, and resolution of interdependencies across programs and projects.
    • Provide governance oversight to ensure delivery risks and impacts are proactively managed.
  • Communities of Practice (CoP) Leadership
    • Establish and nurture Communities of Practice across delivery disciplines to foster knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Champion best practices and emerging trends in project and program delivery.
    • Act as a strategic advisor and mentor to delivery leads and practitioners.
  • Project Management Lifecycle Consistency
    • Define and embed consistent standards, frameworks, and tools across the project management lifecycle.
    • Ensure governance processes support agility while maintaining compliance and control.
    • Monitor adherence to delivery frameworks and provide actionable insights to improve performance.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have significant experience in Project/Program/Portfolio management, coupled with experience in senior delivery or account management roles in IT. You will also have:

  • Proven experience in strategic delivery governance, portfolio management, or enterprise PMO leadership.
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills across senior leadership and delivery teams.
  • Deep understanding of project and program management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Passion for building communities and driving cultural change through collaboration and influence.
  • Experience of negotiating and influencing executive level sponsors.
  • Experience in working in an outsourced IT arrangement and working with SI vendors.
