Your part in our UnitingCare team

This position includes:

  • Managing a team of Residential Care Practitioners and Youth Workers, coordinating the day-to-day operations of our residential care service for young people living in out of home care

  • Provide mentoring, coaching and supervision to teams in alignment with the CARE model for practice

  • Ensure our service is working in accordance with the CARE model, making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, young people and families by taking a therapeutic centred approach

What makes a difference for us?

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Social Work, Psychology or Social Science)

  • Experience incorporating the six CARE Principals when supporting Children and Young People, or reflection on how you would incorporate these into your team’s practice

  • Demonstrated experience leading a team that works with children and youth within a therapeutic care environment who have suffered abuse or neglect and are on statutory child protection or juvenile justice orders

  • A Current Blue Card (Working with Children)

  • A QLD Driver's Licence

  • First Aid and CPR Qualifications

  • Must be willing to undergo a personal history check under the provision of the Child Protection Act 1999 in relation to Licensing of Care Services (LCS2 screening check)  

  • Willingness to be part of a regular OnCall Roster

  • Ability to build strong relationships with young people

  • Our service operates 24/7 and will require you to be flexible to the requirements of the service within these hours.

Please note, that as part of UnitingCare’s commitment to professional development and provision of trauma informed care, successful candidates will be paid to attend training in person for TCI, CARE and Three Pillars of transforming care.
