About this Role

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Human Resource Generalist II to join our team and take ownership of payroll, benefits administration, and support HR operations. This is a unique opportunity to be a trusted resource for employees, ensuring their pay, benefits, and overall HR experience are handled with precision and care.

n this hybrid, non-exempt role, you’ll play a key part in delivering exceptional service to staff while helping drive a positive workplace culture. Your expertise in payroll, benefits, and compliance will directly support employee engagement and organizational success.


Requirements

Payroll Administration & Compliance:

The Human Resource Generalist II is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, in strict compliance with federal and state regulations. This includes verifying employee records, processing deductions, reconciling payroll data, and facilitating contributions to retirement plans and other employee benefits. The HR Generalist II regularly audits payroll records and benefit invoices to ensure accuracy, mitigate errors, and maintain regulatory compliance, while serving as a trusted point of contact for employee payroll inquiries.


Benefits Administration & Employee Support:

This role leads the day-to-day administration of all employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA compliance. The HR Generalist II manages enrollment, changes, and vendor billing, while providing clear and empathetic guidance to employees navigating their benefit options. The role also coordinates and leads open enrollment sessions, ensuring employees have the resources and support they need to make informed decisions about their coverage.


HRIS Data Integrity & Recordkeeping:

The HR Generalist II is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee data in the HRIS system, ensuring seamless integration with payroll and benefits administration. This includes processing personnel actions such as new hires, promotions, terminations, and organizational changes, while safeguarding employee records in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.


Vendor Collaboration & Process Improvement:

This position serves as a liaison between the credit union, benefit vendors, and payroll providers, proactively addressing discrepancies, enhancing workflows, and optimizing the employee experience. The HR Generalist II monitors industry and regulatory changes to ensure Securityplus Federal Credit Union remains compliant and competitive, and actively recommends process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in HR operations.


Employee Experience & HR Program Support:

With a focus on service and professionalism, the HR Generalist II plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall employee experience by supporting various HR initiatives. This includes assisting with onboarding, employee engagement programs, compliance reporting, and policy implementation. The HR Generalist II demonstrates empathy, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to a supportive and inclusive culture.


What You’ll Bring to the Table:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required).

At least 1 year of human resources experience preferred; SHRM-CP certification a plus.

Strong knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on service and collaboration.

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn HRIS and talent management systems.

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

This position involves typical office work such as the use of the PC, reviewing manuals and related office papers, the use of the telephone, fax, and photocopy machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, occasionally stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
