Job Description:AHRC New York City is seeking a Director, Budget & Planning.
Salary: $150,000-$165,000 per year. In addition, this position comes with a very generous and comprehensive Benefit package. See Benefit information below
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the Associate VP, Finance & Budget Planning to develop the agency’s annual operating budget and forecast.
- Work closely with Associate VP, Finance & Budget Planning and Business Managers to review revenue budget submissions and identify opportunities for revenue maximization. Examine revenue models and make recommendations for streamlining and reporting. Maintain knowledge of rates, levels and billing processes.
- Oversees the agency’s Personnel Services Budget, including budget modifications, determination of position management IDs, and tracking of position budgets. Work closely with HR to ensure accuracy.
- Work with the Financial Analyst to verify payroll allocations against budget allocations. Examine and make recommendations for alternatives and simplification of allocations, providing timely updates to HR.
- Update fringe calculations in Prophix as preparation for the annual budget process; work with HRIS, Benefits and Payroll teams to incorporate new regulations and/or benefits.
- Oversees continued implementation and maintenance of the budgeting and planning software, Prophix, particularly for revenue and PS expense development with the assistance of the Manager, Capital Budget, Real Property & Financial Systems and the Associate VP, Finance & Budget Planning.
- Oversee the process for the Capital Budget and Real Property costs including leases, condo fees and real estate taxes as well as maintain the P&L for properties.
- Prepare quarterly salary performance and FTE reports for internal review and externally for Arc NY.
- Collaborate with General Accounting, Reporting & Analysis and CFR team on allocation and payroll reclasses for the Audit and preparation of CFR reports on annual basis.
- Participate in special projects and prepare ad hoc analysis as requested.
- Supervise and mentor staff, as applicable.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics required. MBA preferred.
- Work experience in field of accounting, financial analysis, or budgeting required.
- Expert computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (with particularly strong skills in Excel), electronic general ledger applications, and payroll systems.
- Ability to assist in research and analyses of technical data.
- Strong communication skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work productively and collaboratively within a team-driven environment.
- Flexibility to operate in a rapidly-changing work environment.
- Demonstrable passion for the agency’s mission.
