Internal Job Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist

Position Summary
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist in our People & Culture group, you will be responsible for hiring across our organization in the IT, manufacturing, business development, and corporate services domains. You will perform full-cycle (preparing, sourcing, screening, selecting, hiring, supporting onboarding) recruitment activities and ensure we hire top talent to support the organization’s needs and goals.
Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and define role-specific qualifications.
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies to identify and attract top talent.
- Draft and finalize engaging job descriptions for positions across the organization.
- Ensure job postings are visible on relevant platforms and updated regularly.
- Actively source candidates through job boards, databases, and networking activities.
- Conduct initial phone screens and coordinate interviews and assessments.
- In conjunction with hiring manager, support the evaluation and selection of candidates based on technical skills, experience, and cultural fit.
- Negotiate salaries, communicate compensation package components and present offers to candidates.
- Support the Pre-Employment Screening Coordinator throughout the background check processes as required.
- Coordinate with HR and department leads to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure recruitment practices comply with labor laws, safety regulations, and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
Employer Branding & Pipeline Development
- Promote the company’s employer brand to attract skilled and reliable candidates.
- Attend and represent the company at career fairs and other recruitment events.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and personal networking.
Qualifications:
Education and Knowledge
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration (or related field) or an equivalent number of additional years of relevant experience
- Knowledge and experience with the following:
- Full cycle recruitment
- Fundamentals of employment laws, HR standards and practices
- Applicant tracking systems
- Common job boards, LinkedIn, etc.
- MS O365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint)
Experience
- 5+ years of recruitment experience (in-house corporate recruitment experience is an asset)
- Experience recruiting for unionized environments (asset)

Mandatory Requirements

- Security clearance: Ability to obtain (in a timely manner) and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) personal security clearance
