DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

  

Coach: The purpose of this position is to provide Family Centered Treatment (FCT) in the family's home and community, to both foster families and parenting youth in transitional housing. FCT is evidence-based and committed to family preservation, empowering families to set and achieve their own goals utilizing a wide range of research-based interventions.The services of the coach will be based on an individualized case plan developed for each family. Specific responsibilities and duties will vary depending on the case/clinical plan, needs of the child, and needs of the foster parents.


  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Providing some services during the evenings maybe required
  • To work together with the team to provide intensive family-based services to help the child/youth/ family achieve their goals and objectives of their plan. 
  • Develop and engage in activities with family to provide evidence-based interventions in accordance with the child/youth/family plan.  
  • Assist families in implementing behavioral and skill-building objectives to achieve the goals outlined in the plan. Plans may include designing and implementing reinforcement systems to motivate appropriate behaviors, and teaching and modeling functional skills, such as self-help skills and behavioral redirection.
  • Intervene in crisis prevention and intervention. 
  • Actively participate as a member of the Child and Family Treatment Team, assisting in the development of goals and objectives. 
  • Responsible for participating in trainings, meetings and documentation as set forth by the requirements for the FCT program for this position.
  • At all times, project a favorable image of Walden Family Services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Travel is required for this position.

Employee performs occasional computer work.

Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

  

1. Must have obtained their  Bachelor's degree in the behavioral science field, preferred.

2. 1 year of experience preferred working with youth-at-risk or dually–diagnosed children/ youth in residential, community, or school settings. 

3. Knowledge in behavioral management techniques and behavioral plan implementation

4. Able to establish effective rapport with children, adolescents, foster and birth families.

5. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License, have a good driving record, and a working vehicle.

6. Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearances from the Department of Justice.

7. Must meet all requirements set by Community Care Licensing pertaining to the hiring of employees by a licensed community care facility.


EMPLOYEE STATUS: Non-Exempt


SALARY RANGE: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
