The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Aging Services - Forensic Special Initiatives Unit (DAS-FSIU), is seeking candidates for the position of Social Services Program Consultant 3 (Forensic Specialist). This position will be assigned to the office closest to the candidate's residence.

Position Duties
Pay Grade: K
Under broad supervision, conducts research involving data collection and analysis, develops and implements policy, and administers social services programs, as well as providing ANE training and technical assistance to internal/external partners.
Role and Responsibilities:
The Forensic Specialist will be responsible for:
- Continuing established as well as new FSIU training products.
- Identifying gaps in services and proposing process improvements.
- Developing and implementing projects and policies related to DAS forensic practices with an emphasis on all forms of abuse, neglect & exploitation (ANE).
- Providing technical assistance to criminal justice, ID/DD/MH, protective, regulatory, and victim services and other primary and secondary responders regarding potential and/or ongoing investigations.
- Establishing and maintaining collaborations with key allies in local, state and federal agencies/organizations to address at-risk adult (ANE).
- This position will assist with outreach and training for mandated reporters, law enforcement and other stakeholders regarding ANE.
- This position will also coordinate with DHS enterprise on larger scale activities related to outreach and marketing.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND four (4) years of professional job-related experience which includes one (1) year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role;
- Two (2) years of experience at the lower level Social Services Program Consultant 2 (SSP041) or position equivalent.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all the following education/skills/experience:
- Prior experience investigating abuse, neglect & exploitation (ANE) of older adults & adults with disabilities.
- Prior experience working as part of a team and working with multidisciplinary teams to address ANE.
- Public speaking, project management and analytics.
- POST and/or DHS/DAS/FSIU ACT certifications preferred but not required.
- POST Instructor Training certification preferred but not required.
- Prior investigative work with financial investigations as a Certified Fraud Examiner preferred but not required.
- Nursing/medical experience preferred but not required.
