The Head of Data & Insight will play a key role in transforming the DACB Group's data landscape. This experienced data professional will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive data strategy, ensuring that our data assets are effectively managed, secure, and leveraged to drive informed decision-making. The role will identify key areas for improvement and growth.

Additionally, they will offer technical expertise on ongoing data projects, ensuring that these initiatives are aligned with best practices and strategic objectives. They will signpost the way for DACB to achieve a robust data governance framework, enhancing analytics capability, and how to foster a data-driven culture. The role will enable our firm to harness the full potential of our data, ultimately supporting our strategic objectives and delivering greater value to our clients.

A strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing all data initiatives within the organization, focusing on leveraging data as a business asset 

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Strategy Development: Crafting a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the firm’s business goals.
  • Develop and execute organisation-wide data strategy aligned with business objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders to understand their data needs
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data infrastructure meets business requirements
  • Drive data literacy and adoption of data-driven decision making across the organisation
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements through data analytics and insights
  • Manage data-related budgets and resources effectively
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging data trends and technologies
  • Data Governance: Establishing robust data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Data Analytics and Reporting: Enhancing data analytics capabilities to provide actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Technology Implementation: Overseeing the implementation of data management and analytics tools.
  • Team Leadership: Leading and mentoring the data team to build internal capabilities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with key stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver solutions.
  • Technical Expertise on Ongoing Data Projects: Offering guidance and support to ensure ongoing data initiatives align with best practices and strategic objectives.
  • Building Business Buy-In: Working closely with key stakeholders to build business buy-in and ensure alignment of data initiatives with organisational goals. 

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Proven Experience in Data Strategy Development: Minimum of 10 years of experience in developing and implementing data strategies that align with business objectives, preferably within the legal or professional services sector.
  • Data Governance Expertise: Extensive experience in establishing and managing data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced Data Analytics Skills: Demonstrated ability to leverage data analytics and reporting tools to provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Technology Implementation: Hands-on experience with data management and analytics tools, including overseeing their implementation and integration within an organization.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership skills with at least 5 years of experience in leading and mentoring data teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven track record of working with key stakeholders to understand their data needs, build business buy-in, and deliver tailored data solutions.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth technical knowledge to provide guidance on ongoing data projects, ensuring alignment with best practices and strategic objectives.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to data management, particularly within the legal sector.
  • Change Management: Experience in driving cultural change towards a data-driven organization, including the ability to influence and inspire others
  •  7+ years of experience in data management roles with at least 3 years in a leadership position
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing data strategies across large organizations
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, governance, and management principles
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Decisive and resilient under challenge
  • Communicates business goals, influences strategic decisions and empowers other to align to the vision.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Strong understanding of data security and compliance requirements
