The Rent Collection Specialist works closely with Property Managers to support daily rent collection activities across our property portfolio. This role focuses on processing payments, tracking resident accounts, and maintaining positive communication with residents.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Payment Collection

  • Monitor and record online and manual rent payments through property management software
  • Tack past-due accounts and prepare late payment notices, and other required legal correspondence
  • Generate monthly collection reports, maintain comprehensive delinquency records, and coordinate with property managers regarding past due accounts

Eviction Processing

  • Initiate eviction proceedings for non-compliant residents following state and local regulations
  • Prepare and file necessary legal documents with appropriate courts
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all legal proceedings and court communications

Resident Communication

  • Respond to resident inquiries regarding payment methods, account balances, and payment arrangements
  • Provide professional customer service while handling sensitive situations with discretion and maintaining collection standards

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in collections, accounts receivable, or property management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Yardi experience
  • Bilingual
