The Role
 

Join the POLYWOOD® Maintenance Department, where your skills will keep our operations running at their best. From repairing and maintaining complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to ensuring our facilities and equipment remain reliable, your work will make a direct impact on our success. You’ll be part of a team that values craftsmanship, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.


This role goes beyond general maintenance. You’ll also have the chance to work with advanced automation systems, PLCs, and industrial controls, supporting a modern manufacturing environment that’s always pushing forward.


What You'll Do

  • Diagnose and repair complex electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing machine parts like belts, pulleys, and gears.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure machinery runs efficiently and proactively address potential problems.
  • Handle diverse repair tasks such as welding, plumbing, and electrical wiring, including 120-480 volt single and three-phase circuits.
  • Troubleshoot and repair CNC machinery, heating elements, pneumatic tools, motors, and temperature controllers.
  • Maintain facilities by painting, patching, and repairing walls, ceilings, and furnishings.
  • Ensure safety by adhering to lockout/tagout procedures and other safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with management to research and purchase cost-effective maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Install, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) to maintain seamless production operations. 
  • Diagnose and repair motor control circuits, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and servo drives.
  • Test, calibrate, and replace sensors, relays, actuators, and control devices.
  • Assist with upgrades and integration of automation systems and machine controls.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools (multimeters and thermal cameras) to analyze and correct electrical/controls issues.

  • Hands-on experience with industry-leading PLCs, HMIs, and robotic platforms.

What We're Looking For


Experience: 

  • 5+ years of general maintenance experience, including at least 1 year in welding (MIG, TIG, Stick), HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or blueprint reading 
  • Proven background in electrical and control systems for industrial machinery, automation, or robotics 
  • Hands-on knowledge of PLC programming, ladder logic, and HMI systems electrical circuits.

Technical Skills:

  • Skilled in diagnosing and repairing machinery, reading electrical schematics, and implementing electrical circuits 
  • Proficient in troubleshooting 480V three-phase systems, low-voltage control circuits, and communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus) 
  • Experience with industrial robotics and machine integration is a plus 
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E, NEC codes, and industrial safety standards

Safety-Oriented: Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures and safety programs is essential.

Adaptability: Ability to perform diverse tasks such as conduit bending, motor troubleshooting, and facility maintenance.

Certifications:  Welding Certification, Power Lift Certification, Blood Borne Pathogens Certification, First Aid and CPR Certification

Character: Demonstrates ethics, strategic thinking, professionalism, quality, innovation, adaptability, and dependability.

Screening: Ability to pass a background check.
