Senior Engineer – Design and Development

Job Duties: Develop, implement, and qualify new supply chain and technology platforms that enable MSEI to meet its product quality, reliability, volume, delivery, and cost objectives. Define and deploy new technology platforms in a cross-functional team for new product applications through testing, simulation, prototypes, and volume manufacturing. Use systematic problem-solving approaches to resolve quality/performance issues with suppliers, development, and manufacturing teams. Lead testing and validation of platforms for high reliability applications, by performing use case based electrical, environmental stress tests, and process limit studies. Perform implementation tasks, including leading stage-gate approvals, documentation, supplier quality interface, characterization, verification and on-going sustaining support in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
Position requires 3 weeks of domestic and international travel per year. This is also a hybrid position, requiring 17 days onsite in Lake Oswego per month.
Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related Engineering field, combined with at least 6 months of experience as a Product Engineer, Project Manager, or related position, including the following:
- 6 months of experience conceiving, implementing and completing engineering projects and experiments on schedule.
- 6 months of experience developing low power, high voltage and/or high-speed analog and digital circuit designs, and components such as ASICs, diodes, FETs, memory, transformers, crystals, discrete capacitors, inductors, resistors, etc.
- 6 months of experience utilizing systematic problem-solving approaches to resolve quality/performance issues with suppliers, development, and manufacturing teams.
- 6 months of experience leading testing and validation of platforms for high reliability applications, by performing use case based electrical, environmental stress tests, and process limit studies.
- 6 months of experience implementing tasks including leading stage-gate approvals, documentation, supplier quality interface, characterization, verification and on-going sustaining support in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
- 6 months of experience in leading projects to be released in high volume manufacturing
- 6 months of experience performing failure analysis for production failures and customer returns
