The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst will conduct testing on software, websites, and other technical products to identify and resolve bugs, defects, and other potential issues. This role will require performing various quality assurance operations to ensure high quality production and maximum satisfaction for final consumers. The post holder will ensure that the testplan concerning a product is well identified, defined, processed, and executed in the right order.

Responsibilities:

• Reviews design specifications to understand the scope, requirements, and function of the software product.

• Identifies appropriate parameters, functions, and data to test and validate; parameters may include general function, validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

• Conducts testing to ensure products perform according to user requirements and within established guidelines.

• Identifies, logs, and recreates error codes, bugs, and defects.

• When a product does not perform within specifications, reports defects to programmers while identifying and recommending solutions, improvements, and updates.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Develop test plans and procedures on a product and make sure that requirements are met

• Carry out test on products to check quality and know if they are up to standard to be released in the market

• Detect issues or problems that may arise and proffer solutions to the problems

• Monitor risk-management procedures, and maintain and analyze problem logs to identify and report recurring issues to management and product development

• Prepare documentation, reports, and results based on the process of the test plan, mapping out the failures, stability, and corrective actions in production process

• Review functional and design specifications of product to ensure full understanding of the goal a product is meant to achieve

• Ensure that approved products meet functional and design requirements

• Do their best for the benefit of the organization by managing the resources at hand and handling quality issues in the most cost-effective manner

• Work with other personnel in the quality department, like the managers, engineers, employees, and other teams that exist within the organization.

• Research and analyze product features being tested

• Research new tools, technologies, and testing processes

• Review user interfaces for consistency and functionality

Requirements

A software quality assurance engineer must have strong skills in a variety of categories: engineering and technology, verbal and written communication, problem-solving, reasoning and logic and practical skills.

• 4 years or more years of experience working with software development and software quality assurance and full lifecycle project experience

• Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools

• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Critical Thinking: logic and reasoning to identify problems before or when they arise

• Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices, version control practices and defect management practices

• Requires having a keen eye for details, good decision-making, sound logic or reasoning, excellent communication, and organizational skills.

• Time management skills: Part of working on a team means working within other people’s timelines and finishing your work within reasonable deadlines. You won’t know when a problem might arise, so keeping on schedule can require strong time management skills.

• Significant experience of managing multiple projects especially Cloud based projects and having worked as part of a virtual project team

• Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills. 

• Maintain the highest level of professional standards and be a team player.
