About the role:
LRN is seeking an experienced Technical Lead (Java) to drive the design and development of enterprise-grade applications. You will shape software architecture, establish best practices, and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll architect backend systems, build RESTful APIs, and integrate modern technologies in an Agile environment. Strong expertise in Java, SOA, OOP with hands-on experience with Angular, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and AI tools is a plus.
Requirements
What you'll do:
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deploy new features.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Coach the team, help identify and remove technical impediments and security vulnerabilities, and foster a process of continuous improvement.
- Technical Planning: Proactively work with the team to plan and achieve technical goals and participate in creating deployment plans for releases.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with project managers, business analysts, product owners, and the Architect Council to align on project timing and priorities.
- Code Quality and Performance: Maintain high code quality, organization, and automation standards while actively working on bug fixes and performance improvements.
- Architectural Guidance: Lead technology discussions and impact analysis for new functional and non-functional requirements, working closely with the Architect Council.
- Security Focus: Proactively mitigate security vulnerabilities within projects.
What we're looking for:
- Software Development: A minimum of 6+ years of experience in developing and implementing Java applications
- Java Proficiency: Strong experience with Java, RESTful services, SQL, and the Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
- Database Expertise: Solid hands-on experience with both RDBMS and NoSQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Web and Application Servers: Experience with servers like Tomcat, Resin, and JBoss.
- Content and ORM: Understanding of Content Repository development and experience with Jackrabbit and ORM frameworks such as Hibernate.
- Tools and Systems: Proficient with configuration and version control tools (Git, Perforce) and bug management software (Jira).
- Familiarity with concepts of MVC, JDBC
- Familiarity with build tools such as Maven and Ant
- Familiarity with continuous integration.
- Knowledge of Angular, AI programming tool usage, JavaScript
