Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking an experienced Performance Analysis and Reporting Analyst to manage the analysis, reporting, and improvement of performance metrics on an institutional and department level. This role will coach and influence functional program managers to develop and improve the performance analysis of their programs. This position will also work with Information Technology resources to develop and implement dashboards, new metrics and analytical tools. This role is critical in ensuring the laboratory meets its performance goals, complies with national and departmental standards, and continually enhances its operational efficiency. The selected individual will interface frequently with contractor assurance staff, researchers, managers, and Department of Energy staff.

Responsibilities

  • Performance Analysis:
    • Develop and implement strategies for institutional performance analysis, ensuring alignment with laboratory objectives.
    • Collect, analyze, and interpret complex performance data and metrics from various programs and departments within the laboratory.
    • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in performance data to inform decision-making processes.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews to assess progress towards established goals and objectives.
  • Reporting:
    • Lead the preparation and dissemination of comprehensive performance reports for internal and external stakeholders, including the Department of Energy (DOE), laboratory management, and other regulatory bodies.
    • Coordinate with various departments to gather relevant data and insights required for performance reporting.
    • Develop and maintain dashboards and other visual aids to enhance the understanding and communication of performance metrics.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for improvement in institutional processes and practices and recommend actionable strategies.
    • Implement performance improvement initiatives and monitor their effectiveness over time.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure best practices in performance management are adopted and maintained.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence within the laboratory.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Serve as the key point of contact for all matters related to performance analysis and reporting.
    • Present performance findings and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
    • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate performance improvement initiatives.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Must possess a working knowledge of computers and databases to diagnose and resolve problems and conduct original research and analysis to provide meaningful insights into laboratory trends. 
  • Familiarity with data architecture, metrics development, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Must possess a practical understanding and be skilled at utilizing some of the following Quality Improvement Tools: PlanDoCheckAct, Process Mapping, Gap Analysis, Histograms, Pareto Chart, Brainstorming, Cause & Effect Charting. 
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to team well with others as well as the ability to lead, organize and coordinate meetings and projects that involve multiple scientific, engineering, operations, and business disciplines. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA + 7-9 years of relevant experience. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as analytics, engineering, business administration, or a related discipline. 
  • Demonstrated experience in performance analysis, reporting, and process improvement within a complex organization.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as statistical analysis programs, spreadsheets, and database management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging and informative reports and presentations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with DOE performance management requirements and standards, including DOE O 226.1B and DOE O 414.1D.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is legally required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree
  • Practical experience in nuclear operations and/or a R&D nuclear facility.  
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in more than one of the following Contractor Assurance System (CAS) related areas: assessments; lessons learned, risk analysis, issues and corrective actions management; metrics and trending; causal analysis; or investigations techniques.
  • Active DOE clearance
