JOB SUMMARY
This position involves performing a variety of commercial lines and/or personal lines related to application entry/registration, processing money and non-money policy changes, processing of basic renewals, basic cancellations, and other duties to support the underwriting service group. Data entry in various systems is a large component of this job.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enter policy application data into AS-400 or Ecomm or INow for various personal lines products.
- CL Registration – Proficiently work the Quote flow on quotes submitted through Ecomm or Acord applications. Perform a name search to identify duplicate submissions and alert underwriting, review and add information into AS400 as needed.
- CL Registration – Proficiently work the New Biz flow to update or assign policy numbers to issue the policy. Look for quote already submitted to issue from quote in AS400. Perform extra steps in the BOP UW Analysis tool to identify if policy is eligible for Straight Through Processing (STP).
- Process policy pre-renewals, basic renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, basic add from cancels (AFC) and basic retroactive endorsements (Retros) and ensuring the proper processing method is used and maintaining our efficiency.
- Perform certain policy tasks associated with non money endorsements in various workflows, including mortgagee lists and returned mail.
- Perform certain policy tasks associated with money endorsements in various workflows.
- Assist agents and underwriters encountering system challenges or questions related to policy application data entry, and processing.
- Delivering exceptional customer service via phone and email promptly and professionally.
- Actively identify ways to improve processes and efficiency.
- Build positive relationships with team members, including underwriters, to achieve department and company goals.
- Monitor reports as assigned.
- Keep up-to-date on all current department procedures related to processing many different types of application entry, policy endorsements and cancellations.
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Moderate supervision is received from the Underwriting Service Manager and/or other senior staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school education plus 1 to 2 years of relevant office experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
- Excellent data entry skills, good reading and spelling skills, good math skills and general clerical skills.
- Some relevant experience working with complex computerized information systems.
- Experience with AS-400, ImageRight, and Microsoft Outlook preferred.
- Ability to understand and follow policy processing procedures.
- Ability to deal with other company personnel as well as outside agents in a courteous and efficient manner.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Predominately sedentary office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required.

The salary range reflected is a good faith estimate of base pay for the position. In addition to base salary, this role is incentive compensation and benefits eligible, and individual salary will ultimately be determined based on individual experience, skills, qualifications and geographic location.
