Summary of position:
Be a brand ambassador and allow the mission, vision and service standards established by Neighbors Credit Union guide you in everything you do. Provide excellent service to internal and external members, act with integrity, provide trustworthy guidance, make it easy to do business with us, make others feel important, and take personal responsibility in everything you do.
Primary Function:
Conduct loan interviews. Discuss and offer appropriate loan products and services through needs-based selling to help members meet financial goals and the needs of our members. Be proficient with sales and loan interviewing techniques. Have a thorough understanding of credit union goals, objectives, policies and procedures as they pertain to the lending department.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist member in completing loan applications via phone or electronically.
- Deliver the highest levels of service through same day or next day interactions with members
- Handle incoming loan inquiries and provide problem resolution. Provide member assistance to problems of a more complex nature to ensure member satisfaction.
- Maintain a high level of understanding on consumer products and features to identify, review, and promote appropriate products to members
- Request, review, and deliver all appropriate documentation to the underwriting department
- Identify cross-sell opportunities through meaningful conversations and analysis of credit bureau reports
- Effectively cross-sells products and services and participates in achieving established service and productivity goals.
- Ensure applicable regulation and compliance is met in the consideration, opening, and closing of all product types within the credit union
- Prepare closing documentation
- Funding consumer loans through our LOS
- Ensure quick turnaround of loan applications.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and privacy in all member communications and data input
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment that promotes positive working relationships and productivity
- Review all loan queues daily to actively target pending loan applications so that we will fund all applications within 24 hours or less.
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Work flexible hours to meet the needs of the staff to provide optimum service.
- Communicates well with vendors and staff.
Requirements
Experience:
- Prefer a minimum of two years experience in the lending or member service area of a credit union or other financial institution.
Education:
- High School diploma or experience in another related field.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of credit union products, operation procedures, principles of lending, and the ability to adhere to credit union philosophy.
Skills:
- Effective communication and listening skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
- Must be detail oriented having the ability to work with numbers.
- Ability to multitask and work with other departments.
- Should have a thorough knowledge of credit union products and philosophy.
- Good understanding of Outlook in regard to composing professional e-mails & managing a schedule.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Ability to lift items weighing 10 pounds are required.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to changes in climate and temperature. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.50, based on experience.
Schedule
- 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday and rotating Saturdays from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
