We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. This is more than a traditional accounting role; you will work closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial records and play an active part in automating and streamlining accounting processes.
Requirements
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure transactions are recorded in an accurate and consistent manner.
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Assist with compliance reporting, such as sales tax, personal property tax, 1099 forms, and income tax filings.
- Obtain and maintain customer and supplier documents required for compliance with internal procedures and government agencies.
- Support management of fixed assets.
- Cross-train and provide backup support for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable as needed.
- Assist in preparing financial reports to support company operations and management decision-making.
- Collaborate with other departments on various projects and tasks
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles (GAAP), with the initiative and ability to research and resolve unfamiliar or complex issues as they arise.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and automation tools.
- Experience with accounting software; ERP system experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Reliable attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex information, identify discrepancies, and develop practical solutions.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience.

Logistics
This is a full-time, onsite position in Ferndale, WA. Remote applicants in the PDT time zone will be considered.
Compensation: This position is salary non-exempt with a starting weekly salary of $1,442.30.
