About the Role:
The BSN Clinical Placement Coordinator plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academic education and required clinical practice sites, within the nursing program. This position is responsible for obtaining sites in various healthcare settings. The coordinator will collaborate with faculty and healthcare facilities to secure clinical placements that align with the curriculum. Ultimately, the BSN Clinical Placement Coordinator aims to make sure clinical sites are established prior to the beginning of each semester and by the identified clinical site time.
Westminster University is hiring for ----clinical placement position that is open in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences for Fall, Spring, and modified Summer hours beginning fall semester of 2025. The position consists of 20 hours/week with hours that are flexible depending on needs of the Undergraduate Nursing Program (UGNP) to assist with clinical site scheduling. The Clinical Coordinator, in conjunction with the program director, serves as the point of contact for clinical agencies under the UGNP within the School of Nursing. This position assists with scheduling clinical sites, making sure required paperwork is in place.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Higher Education Coursework.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of two years of clinical site acquisition and management of nursing clinical placement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Related Field or Similar Combination of Education and Experience.
- Experience in nursing education or clinical coordination.
- Experience with clinical site acquisition and management of nursing clinical placements is preferred.
- Experience in healthcare setting.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate clinical placements for nursing students in collaboration with healthcare facilities.
- Set up CANVAS courses as communication tool for students/faculty.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clinical partners to ensure quality training opportunities.
- Organize and conduct orientation sessions for students and clinical preceptors.
Skills:
The required skills for this role include strong organizational abilities, which are essential for managing multiple clinical placements and schedules effectively. Excellent communication skills are vital for interacting with students, faculty, and healthcare partners, ensuring that all parties are informed and engaged. Preferred skills, such as experience in nursing education, enhance the coordinator's ability to develop clinical site relationships relevant to training programs.
