Capitol Periodontics – Davis, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our specialty practice three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday, with occasional Fridays). Hours are 7:40 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. We are also offering a $500 sign on bonus, to be paid out after 90 days of employment.
We are looking for a talented and compassionate hygienist to help us improve the lives of our patients by providing a world-class specialty experience. You’ll work closely with patients and our dental team to deliver exceptional care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Your Responsibilities
As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in maintaining our patient’s oral health and promoting overall well-being. If you are dedicated, detail-oriented, and have a passion for helping patients achieve excellent oral hygiene, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and vital signs
- Perform periodontal cleanings, root planings, and laser-assisted treatments
- Clean and remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth using a variety of instruments
- Administer local anesthesia as required for dental procedures
- Take and process dental X-rays for evaluation
- Apply preventive treatments such as fluoride varnishes or sealants
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, home care routines, and the importance of ongoing maintenance
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the operatory, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure patient comfort and excellent clinical outcomes
As one of the essential members of our office, you will also help to facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.
Your Background
You are a resourceful dental hygienist who loves helping patients receive the experience they deserve and helping the Dentist to provide it. You're excited by the prospect of a patient leaving your office in a healthier, stronger, and more comfortable / happier being, each and every day. You’re a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who is able to proactively adjust to shifting priorities and values the chance to make an important impact. You also have the following:
- 1-2 years of experience as a dental Hygienist.
- Current state licensure as a Dental Hygienist
- Prior experience in a dental office or specialty practice preferred
- Familiarity with Dentrix software is a plus
- Strong knowledge of dental instruments, anatomy, and periodontal practices
- Understanding of infection control and health & safety regulations
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills, with empathy and professionalism
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and well-organized
